Opening of New Tram Line 23 into Schwabing Park Town, Munich
After more than 10 years, Munich got a new additional tram line.
During an inauguration ceremony taking place on December 12th 2009, the new tram line 23 "Tram into Schwabing Park Town“ was officially commissioned..

Participation in National Forum on Cleaner Production technologies and Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control in Istanbul
The mediterranean environmental initiative GRECO with its Regional Activity Centre for Cleaner Production (CP/RAC) and the Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TUSIAD) co-organized a National Forum on Cleaner Production (CP) technologies and Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) in Istanbul (21-22 October 2009). This forum, with the support and collaboration of the Turkish Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF), aimed at the enhancement of green competitiveness for Turkish industry - make economic savings, increase productivity, improve efficiency, and improve corporate image.
Dorsch Consult Water and Environment (DCWU) got the opportunity to give a presentation about its profound experiences in this sector. These are mainly based on the role of the Coordinating Consultant for more than 10 years in a German financial cooperation program (KfW grant) with the Egyptian government for implementing environmental measures in public sector industries in Egypt. Within this program, more than 75 projects were successfully implemented in more than 50 factories (companies). Starting mainly with projects for improving industrial waste water quality, the program and project expanded into various environmental and also social fields of activity. More than the half of the projects show a mutual benefit for the environment and the economy through savings in fresh water, energy, raw material, final product, by improving the production efficiency and the work environment.
DCWU presented ideas for the implemetation of a similar program in Turkey. The Turkish MoEF and TUSIAD have high hopes in such a program and promised their support for future cooperation.
